All group members may post helpful techniques here to help us improve our photography in the zoo.

Every month we will choose a piece of artwork from the group to be displayed as Zoophoria’s Group Avatar. All group members are elegible to nominate an image from those appearing in groups images since the group’s beginning.

THought it would be a good idea to start a forum on which Zoo you attend, here is mine.

A place to post your funny Zoo related stuff.

There is so much talent in this group we want to showcase your talents periodically by selecting a great shot randomly. This may be a great shot that may have been overlooked with very few comments, or just a really unusual shot that grabbed the attention of the leaders, or a randomly chosen member. You may be called upon at some point to select your favorite shot from the group. The winner will be announced here, as well so we will have a library of previously chosen shots.

A Place for help navigating the group and this site.

For two weeks we will run a competition for art and photography focusing on the hands or front paws of an animal. This competition will be limited to animals with four limbs / extremities.

A great challenge for us when visiting the zoos, safari parks, animal refuge centers, etc. Artwork uploaded previously or from an early time is permissible as long as it fits the guidelines.

The Hands / Front Paws competition: Must focus on the The Hands / Front Paws of a animal found in captivity. Pets such as cats and dogs may not be included in this contest.

“Beginning now, Monday, April 14 through Sunday, April 27 you will be eligiable to upload entries to the contest in this forum. This is very important:

1. You must be a member of the Zoophoria group to participate in the contest.

2. You must add your artwork to the group so that it shows up in the Zoophoria group artwork area.
Artwork that is not part of the group will be disqualified from the competition.

3. You must add the artwork to this forum under the topic The Hands / Paws Entries. Please upload the small thumbnail from the group area and link the larger version so that we will have room in the forum for many entries.

4. Also, please place Zoophoria_Hands_Paws
in the tag for your image for easy reference. This will not add the art to the contest, it will simply make it much easier for us all to search the contest entries and find them all in one place.

There are detailed instructions in the forum “Technical Help & Instructions” if you need further guidance. After you do this a couple of times, it becomes much easier to remember the steps. Many of the groups are using Forums for competitions. It seems the best place within the group to have them all in one spot.

Voting will begin on Monday, April 28, and will end on Friday, May 2. The winner will be announced on Sunday, May 4, 2008. The prize will be recognition by the group leaders in a journal focused on your artwork.”
