  • I Wuv U by Alex Cearns

This is my mate Richard Barry getting up close and personal to a red kangaroo. Originally hailing from the UK, Richard is one of the most interesting and fun people I have ever met – He has become a dear friend. He works tirelessley as the spokesperson for the RSPCA Western Australia, and his passion for animals and commitment to fighting for a better world for them is unwavering. His fave animal happens to be the kangaroo and this was the first time he had been close enough to touch one! And he even snuck in a kiss! Which of course, i caught on film! :) Richard is new to Red Bubble – his profile is / RICHARD BARRY Please check out his work and make him feel welcome to this great online community!

  • Rainbow Bee Eater by Alex Cearns

This was the best shot I managed to get of a rainbow bee eater. I was using a 100-400mm zoom from a footpath and the bird was about 40m away, so the image has been cropped slightly. I wasn’t too happy with the lack of successful shots, so am heading back there in a week and a half to try again. They are quite small birds, and very fast and flighty – the latter I don’t mind so much as it means they stay safe from predators and annoying humans! I can see myself sitting in one spot for 2 hours to get the one shot I’m after – Wish me luck! :)

  • Kookaburra by Alex Cearns

Whilst trying (and pretty much failing) to get some close shots of rainbow bee eaters (Im going back there soon to try, try again) , I noticed this kookaburra sitting in nearby tree. He didnt seem to notice me, instead concentrating on a wattle bird who was swooping low overhead.

About This Group

Workshop is the largest and most active camera club in Western Australia.
The aim of the club is to encourage and promote photography as an art form.

We present here a variety of examples of our members’ work.

The club meets every Wednesday night at 7:30 PM, with the first Wednesday of each month being a competition night. The meetings are held in the Canning Arts Centre on the corner of High Road and Riley Road, Riverton. Visitors are always welcome to come along to a few meetings, and nobody will ever be put under any obligation to join.

Changing the scenery a little, new group pictures will be chosen based on variety and how possibly relevancy to club activities.
