Wythe County Poor Farm by susi lawson
This location has some great history, it bordered my grandfathers land and the new owners of the poor farm bought out several acres and a cabin that belonged to my Dads sister. The new owner found a beautifully written letter by my grandfather and gave it to me. It was just a note on some sheep he sold, but the penmanship is stunning. / Here is a link for anyone interested n the history: / http://www.mtnlaurel.com/poorfarm/poorfarm.htm

Barreling By by ej29
Saturday as I was crossing the track on my way home I looked to my left and saw the lights in the distant. I found a place to turn around and to park. I grabbed my camera and jumped out of the car. I ran to the track to see how close it was or if it had stopped. I was so excited I forgot to check th settings on the camera. As I stood on the track, I took the first two shots, then I realized it was coming fast. I stepped to the side about 4 ft. when I took the next shot. I was still too close so I moved about 4 more ft. and took the last shot as it barreled by me at about 60 to 70 mph. The last shot is the one you see. I know it sounds crazy but I finally got that shot. And yes the camera was on all the wrong setting, its not perfect but I think it still turned out pretty cool. Oh, if you look at it big you can see the driver and it looks like a women. Thank you for looking and I hope you like it…
