Blackpool's Donkeys by georgiegirl
It’s a long way out to the sea!!! At least the beach is clean and a nice sandy colour, not like the muddy shoreline of the coastal towns near Kirby in Furniss… / There weren’t many people around either. It was in April of 1992, a lovely (but cloudy) Spring day! I need to get the atlas out to remember where I’ve been!!

London Bobbies by georgiegirl
The very first photo I took of England!! The very first photo of my holiday! These two policemen just laughed when I asked for their photo!! / I was thinking of cropping into these smilee blokes, but I felt the buildings in the background needed to be included as well. / If anyone knows which bit of London this is in, could they please share? I can’t remember!

Icicles by Pat Lucas
We are in the middle of a very unusual cold snap here in UK, it’s the coldest it has been for over 20 years. It got down to -10C the other night, I know a lot of places in the world get a lot colder than that but usually we barely touch freezing here, especially in Plymouth where we are near the sea. These icicles were at Burrator on Dartmoor.

The Bait Catchers by rodsfotos
Looking across the estuarine harbour at Teignmouth in South Devon, three local sand eel fishermen were unpacking their traditional wooden traps filled with sand eels and packing them into boxes, ready to sell as fishing bait for sea anglers. What looked like their first customer of the day had started fishing only a few feet away from where they were unloading the small eels, he obviously wanted to make sure his bait was as fresh as it could be. About This Group
There is no real set guideline for what an image or writing can contain because everyone has their own idea of what England means to them. It could be a photo of a well known landmark or place, or of a scene that captures the spirit of the people of England. It is open to the interpretation of the artist, and of the viewer.
