  I have sold the original of Tropical Reef to a buyer from Brisbane…...I am proud to say this wonderful painting will be making it’s way to Brisbane early March…...I will deliver it myself….then head out to the art galleries whilst there…...The girl from the bush goes to the city…..lol This painting is 1m x1m and to truly value it you need to see it in person…there are layers of collage, layers of thin glazes of paint….it is truly stunning…..letting it go is not easy….. Hey guys, forgive me if I don’t get to comment on your work for a few days, I am back in the nine to five work force…..so time on computer at present is limited, the spare hours I have are spent on my painting and running my boys around….lol Thank you to my wonderful friends for the mail, keep it coming, love to you all, see / you soon…...Cheers Kym Tropical Reef

Last night My Sweet Baby was featured for the second time in Domestic and Pedigree Cats. I am extremely honored and humbled by these features.   Hello to all if this has worked you are now able to see Tropical Reef and myself in it’s new home, Yep I am the one holding the painting….lol…. Very proud to say the trip down was peaceful and safe, and when I arrived Mark (the new owner) was waiting for us, Once upstairs he was able to see TP in the flesh so to speak for the first time, and well he was very impressed and happy to be the new owner….I am am wrapped that TR has a wonderful new home with ocean views….. / Thank you to Mark for these images, as you can see he is very happy to have TR hanging up as well….Mark and I also had a lovely day out together around the Brisbane art galleries and lunch at South Bank so all in all it was a special day… Thanks to Red Bubble my clients are able to see my works and contact me in regard to purchasing originals as well as being able to buy great prints and cards….. / enjoy guys. cheers Kym xx

  My Amur Leopard / / / Most of you know that I spend a lot of time at the Philadelphia Zoo, in PA. I do have to say, I wish I lived next door instead of an hour away, but as I make the busy drive into Pennsylvania (from NJ) and have to wait in traffic as I try to make my way to the other side of Philadelphia, my thoughts are always, always with one animal that I just can’t wait to see. Yes, the baby Amur Tigers were stunning, when they were babies, but I always ended up at MY AMUR LEOPARD. The two photos above, the first one is the Male and the second is the Female The Amur Leopard is the rarest and critically endangered cat in the world. It is said that there is fewer that 40 of these majestic cats left in the wild, due to habitat loss and natural disasters such as fires, not to mention poaching. It is hard to believe when I see these stunning cats that they are becoming to be extinct in the wild To learn more please visit Amur Leopard

  A mere two days after the Righteous Kill Premiere...

  A mere two days after the Righteous Kill Premiere I had a chance at another one. This one was the Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jnr comedy ‘Tropic Thunder’. I think the people at work know that I take my job seriously, I just suspect they assume photography is my job and I do spreadsheeting and SAS programming on the side… I’d prefer not to comment! / Between them, Jack Black, Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Junior have exactly one (1) Academy Award and no (0) Grammy Award nominations, and no wins. No offence, but Robert De Niro can’t walk to the local shops without winning a primetime Emmy for it. / The camouflage-green carpet for the Tropic Thunder premiere. Cute! / Jack Black doing what Jack Black does. Except more weirdly / Still owes me $5…. / Ben Stiller.. nobody makes him bleed his own blood / Actually, it wasn’t the greatest song in the world. It was just a tribute. / “Magnum? Not only can’t I show it to you, I shouldn’t even be talking about it!” / That ringing sound you’re hearing isn’t merely David Duchovny in a panic, realising he’s been outdone in the “improbable hairstyle” game… but a whole bunch of engineers trying to figure out whether that construction is entirely stable. / ”...and could the guy commenting about my hair please take a look at the mirror?”. Harsh comment, Mr Downey Jnr. Needlessly harsh. / Oh, look….. it’s That Guy. / That can’t be That Guy because That Guy was over there wearing Prada sunglasses and a fake diamond stud earring… / Exceedingly thin, slightly jaundiced and wearing a searingly yellow dress. My camera’s autofocus seized up a little trying to find the contrast there. My main thought: eat a cough drop, lady- you need the calorie! / Not sure who she is, but she was looking right at me, obviously so mesmerised that she forgot that it was unlikely I was a celebrity like her. Given I was, you know, standing in The Crush with the rest of the dregs of society. / Oh, it’s… uh… ummm… I’m sorry, you were saying…? / Impossibly, even MORE pretty! / And finally…. I heard several people make disparaging comments about something being “definitely fake” but to be honest I simply can’t spot a non-genuine Fendi or Prada handbag at this distance….. That one was fun. Much better location, a more even balance of celebrities (male/female split), and without having to be contorted into a pretzel by the crowd. The next scheduled London Premiere is for ‘How to Lose Friends and Alienate People’ next Wednesday. Will I make that one?   After many months of the land baking in extreme heat, the land being parched of all it’s moisture – every plant and animal is pushed to it’s limits of existance in this volatile climatic region.But like all seasons, they slowly change and the first showers and storms begin to form – isolated and somewhat benign in nature at first. Though this soon changes as the build up season gets into full swing and the heat and humidity is at it’s peak. The thunderstorms become more frequent and sometimes more violent and often dumping very heavy rainfall in short periods with cooler refreshing outflow winds temporarily providing relief from the stiffling heat and humidity…though once the storm clears and the sun returns the added moisture at ground levels sends the humidity skyrocketing again. / Wetlands begin to become rejuvinated remarkebly quickly again as all plants and animals look to make the most of this high speed growing and breeding season before the dry returns. Before it does though is the all mighty wet season with daily downpours, winds and little sunshine… This leaves the vast wetlands of the top end once again in full splendour of the annual floods. Access becomes very limited but what a majestic sight it is.   yeah, it’s the season for em. Cross all of your fingers for me (and not just two! i want em all crossed and then let me know how it worx out!) that the power doesnt go back out again. I just had to turn of the A/C off yuck! (and they are fixed now too go figure!) and my laptop wasnt charging….so I might end up sketchin and schemin all night by candle light! (hmmm kinda like the tweaker i used to be eeeew! minus the candle of course…) Kisses to all of my adoring fans (lol) and even those of you who love to hate me (it’s allright i’d hate me too!...j/k) and a big kick in the ass to those of you who just hate me…because that’s just uncalled for! (damn just reread that i’m sounding a bit um…concieted…no no no…arrogant?...hrm….self assured! that’s thee word i was lookin for! hahaha!)

  Viva revolucion! i’d join that! i’m totally revolting at the moment. have had a cold and rested all last week (that means no training of any sort just working all day) and by saturday was ready to leap tall buildings. was going to do a x-coutnry race up in the blue mountains but it got cancelled because of inclement weather, people who do that sort of race don’t care about falling trees and washed away tracks but the race organisers do…and National Parks people do as they worry about 100’s of runners wrecking the trails. Anyhow, went running down Royal National Park instead with some friends, i was physically tired and heart rate racing because of cold….SO, next day was WAY worse and all this week felt yik. / Anyhow, painting sunny tropical Cuba and listening to music created in this creative hotspot makes me wanna go there especially as another white-out of rain rolls overhead and dumps over the harbour. I’m really enjoying painting these beautiful old cars and decaying colourful walls with Cuban graffitti…...I’ve mixed lots of plaster in and it just gets such a great texture. My fave thing at the moment. I’m going to try to layer resin on top tonight and see what happens. My husband is packing them up to send up to a gallery on the Gold Coast. I’ve done 3/6. The 6th one will bring me to 500 paintings. A milestone of sorts I guess. That’s 500 big paintings since i began selling when i was about 24yrs old. Designs, Ceramics and everything else go filed into all sorts of separate folders. / I’ve just been sent samples of the Apres Velo cycle range so tonight will open and go thru them..this is Winter 08, i think! I’ve just sketched up Winter 09….you have to work so far ahead.
