When I start to create a digital abstract, I never really know what it’s going to end up like; sometimes something comes out of the background to overshadow what I’ve been preparing as the main focus of the piece. / / As in this image, when I realized that the backdrop was way more interesting than the design in front, / I was tempted to ditch the design and let the background stand on its own. But it looked more interesting with the design layer faded into near oblivion, giving the digital smoke something to react against. / / Was going to title the piece Digital Smoke, but thought that was somewhat unimaginative; I wanted to recognize a perceived aura of the aurora borealis. And I like alliteration. / / As always, I am ecstatic when a piece fits nicely onto a card with minimal cropping damage

This tree was sitting by itself and caught my eye because it was so stark. This was at the civil war reinactment and there was smoke everywhere so I liked this tree. People never gave it a second glance but I just had to shoot it.

My wife and I were driving through the country this afternoon on a picture taking excursion and we came across this old burned up house. We wandered through and took a few shots of it. We then noticed this window and the view of the beautiful winter scene outside so clean and crisp and the contrast of the burned up wood and fuse box of the inside of the house. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

This is part of my Union Creek Prescribed Burn series. It looked to me as if the forest angels were keeping an eye on these small fires to make sure that they didn’t get out of control! The rays of light appear to land just where the fires are burning. / /

The nearby grass fire filled the air with smoke yesterday about half an hour before sunset.

My toys at work :).....the forest is local hehe….the soldiers belong to my husband from childhood :)...the robots are mine…....I asked a few friends about this image whether it was to much for child’s book….I mean the soliers going after the robots….what do you think?...should i leave it or less is more and scratch out the soliers…hmmmm i would love to hear feed back :)
