  • China Revisited
    by Alyson Pearson

    US$5.49–US$39.19

While my scanner is on the blink I’ve been going through some of my photos taken while in Shanghai, China in 2006 and found a few with potential. I don’t think I’ll upload too many as photography isn’t one of my strong points, but it is fun to see what you can do with an image in photoshop. This one was taken while in a river traffic jam, our driver was a real character!

This old tractor and cart reside on a property which has been dontated to Council locally – as you can see by the sign leaning on the cart, they used to sell honey and eggs to the locals. This has been treated with a few filters in Photoshop to try for an ink/sepia wash look. Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

  • I have an old Smiths Enfield Bakelite clock at home which I got from my parents. / It doesn’t work, although I suspect it needs minimal work to make it do so. / It’s actually in fairly good condition. The clock-works are all well oiled & have that lovely old oily smell about them. / One of the things I love most about it is it’s beautiful art deco styling….. [No. 3 of series.] /

  • In Its Hay Days II
    by Gary L. Suddath

    US$5.32–US$121.60

This may not look to be that comfortable to ride. It was a lot easier that raking hay by hand. This old horse drawn hay rake could rake bout what 8 men could do in a given time. That would leave a lot of time for other chores. More often then not, one of the younger kids would drive the rake, and the older kids and men would gather and put up the hay. This was pulled thru the field of cut hay. The tines would collect the hay. When they were full the lever would be pull releasing the hay in a pile. Then it would be gathered and taken to where they stored it. This may be crude by today’s standards but in its hay days this was a major improvement to putting up hay…….image taken at the Mountain Farm Museum at the Cherokee NC entrance to the Great smoky Mountain NP

  • Vintage Tractor
    by blossom

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Vintage Tractor This Vintage Tractor takes pride of place at Belyando Crossing. Belyando Crossing 176 kms north from Clermont and 200 kms south from Charters Towers, Queensland. Belyando Crossing is on the Great Inland Way… a route which takes you from the central west of New South Wales through to the Atherton Tablelands and the Gulf Savannah Region of North Queensland. The present Belyando Roadhouse is situated on the site known as Mt Douglas and the original Lowlands Hotel. The area is steeped in history going back to Ludwig Leichardt’s expeditions in 1844, and Augustus Gregory in 1855… hence the name Gregory Highway. Gold mining and exploration still exists today both north and south of the Belyando River, with large deposits of gold mined commercially at Wiralee and Glen Eva mines in the Mt. Coolon district.

  • Christine's brother
    by Kimberly Palmer

This old beat up GMC has been sitting near my home for a long time. Today was the perfect chance to photograph her, as it’s cloudy here, finally. I drive by her whenever I go to my parents house, and I have told my husband more then once, “I really want to photograph that truck”. I’m so glad I finally did! • Haystack II
    by Gary L. Suddath

    US$5.32–US$121.60

This look into the past is preserved at the Mountain Farm Museum in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. This park is different in many ways from a lot of the other National Parks in the US. It is one of the 1st to have the land bought soley form logging companies and individuals. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 1200 familys were displaced in the early 1920’s and 30’s when they sold their land for the purpose of a National Park. The park service also desided they wanted to preserve the way of life of these early pioneers. Throughout the park old structures have been preserved. Here at the Mountain Farm Museum and at the Cades Cove Visitors Center are 2 places where a whole farm was preserved. The only building here that was originally here though, is the barn, the other structures were moved from various places in the park to here. Another note of the parks uniqueness is they is no charge for entering due to an agreement with the states of Tennessee and North Carolina
