I was transfixed when I saw this breathtaking scene last evening near my place in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania on November 21, 2008. Early winter snows are always the best! Taken with a Canon Digital Rebel EOS Xsi. / / /

Mother nature presented me on a last October evening with one of those sunsets that you can hope to see just once a year if you’re lucky. / High layers of scattered clouds, a pure, clean atmosphere and the fact that at the end of october the twilight lasts almost a hour, all this elements contributed in producing a stunning natural show. This is the Po River near to Carignano in Piedmont, Italy. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. Paolo

River Reflections - Murray River, Albury , NSW - The HDR Experience
by Philip JohnsonUS$4.99–US$114.00
MUCH BETTER VIEWED LARGER Welcome to my latest work , for those commenting and if i am lucky favouriting thank you for dropping in ! This shot was taken on my recent travels south , had a great time wandering around Albury on my way back from Victoria. At Albury Wodonga, the Hume Highway, Australia’s busiest national transport corridor, crosses the Murray. For many years, Albury Wodonga has been singled out by travellers to break their journey overland from Melbourne to Sydney. In fact, Hamilton Hume and William Hovell passed through the area in 1824 and the famous ‘Hovell Tree’, in which Hovell carved his initials, still stands on the banks of the Murray River at Albury. Albury is lucky to be located on the magnificent Murray River. AlburyCity has a series of parks along the River’s edge with picnic and barbecue facilities. A two metre wide shaded walking/cycling trail runs through the parks, and has links to other trail networks throughout Albury and into Wodonga. Why not take a break at the outdoor Riverdeck Café in Noreuil Park. There’s a children’s playground, and the Noreuil Park foreshore is a favourite swimming spot if the weather is right. This shot was taken with 5 bracketted images around sunset, the camera Nikon D300, using a Sigma 10-20mm lens. The image processed using Photomatix Pro with a tidy up with Capture NX. Most of the sunflower fields have already been harvested, but this one was still standing and the flower were in full bloom. driving by on my way “home” i simply had to stop and take this photo and enjoy the view. there are some beautiful moments in life…

Ya, thought the title pretty much summed it up! Captured a couple night ago as the sun was sinking low out at Reunion Lake on the eastern plains of Colorado. The colors were just stunning, I was pretty awe struck, it yielded quite a few really nice shots! Let me know what ya think! / —-John

Captured 12/13/2008 on a very frigid morning at Cherry Creek State Park, here in Colorado, I froze my damn keester off because I was dense and forgot to bring along my damn jacket! It was an incredible sunrise folks, one which I won’t forget, the colors changed and developed by the minute, going from the cool blues to the warm pinks, reds, and oranges…and I was able to get something in the shots which I had never had been able to before, the lake actually shimmering! In some of the other shots in days to come, you can really see this, and you kind of can here in the bottom left side a tad, an odd occurrence, and one I finally managed to snag! Long exposure, using my Singh-Ray CPL and Marumi ND4, on my Minolta 18-70 DT Lens, I hope ya all like it, let me know what ya think! / —-John !

This is a row of willows that is not more than a 100 mt. far from my house, in the country side near to Scalenghe in Piedmont, Italy. / I took this on a very early morning last november, 30 minutes after sunrise, while a thick fog was coming around, quickly obscuring the entire scene in just five minutes. Hope you enjoy it, thanks for viewing. Paolo

On July 4 of 2008 some friends and family were gathered around a bonfire in our yard, shooting fireworks and sharing stories. It was also my 39th birthday (groan). As everyone was engaged in watching which fireworks the kids would send up next, I was watching the sun set in the west. I started to think about the last year of my life and of so many birthdays before and how the day was ending so joyously… so celebratory. I walked away from the festivities for a few moments into a freshly mowed alfalfa field and watched as this burning pink and orange sun slowly slid to the horizon and I thought to myself that of all the “grand finale’s” at every fireworks show across the USA that night, that this “finale” was the grandest of them all.
