In The Twilight
by jcmontgomeryAmbition had been our only common ground. Unfortunately, it was never directed toward making our relationship work.
A flash fiction piece derived from attempting to meet two challenges: / (1) Two Word Challenge #33 / (Fortune, Ambition) / (2) Three Word Wednesday #95 / (History, Narrow, Spent) Also, to a certain extent, it is based loosely on my own experiences. Very loosely. You can find the photo I used for this piece here: in the twilight by j.c. montgomery

*Life within the living*
by C.C. ArshagraTo rock aware why / we rise to human matters
Dedicated to Gigi RedBubble artist micmac Inspired by her photographic art work / titled Captive Beauty This is the third (3rd) GIGI inspired poem that I have written based on Gigi’s work which has a powerful touch that reaches deep into my creative core. I am so grateful to know her and so fortunate to be inspired by her. I am so grateful to know her and so fortunate to be inspired by her. Each of them are all based on one style of hers. PLEASE READ/Comment on ALL 3 AND FOLLOW THE HOT LINK TO VIEW/Comment ON HER WORK TOO. The 1st one Breathe now for the last breath is gone The 2nd one is The Free Thinker Would The 1st one just riveted my heart. Inspired by Torn… / And then, some time later Another piece in the same style appeared. This same feeling came over me. There is something about the human/nature asthectic she has utilized to date in this style that moves me so profoundly. The 2nd piece is inspired by Gigi’s The Free Thinker / This is note to underestimate the vast diverse creative gifts of Gigi’s other work. Watch her you will be happy you choose to and by no small mesure will you be alone, She is beautiful being and artist. OH ! HOW COULD I FORGET? / THIS IS REALLY THE FORTH Poem Inspired by Gigi / This one is from January 2008 / I think it was the photograph that fisrt introduced me to Gigi’s woek! / The poem Suite Sound Images of Her / Very few comment from way back when I had only a few artist on my watchlist.

Killing dead Fish
by Symmetry44We swam against currents of upbringing / of swift yet guiding hand / and of a mother’s tainted earth / upstream through shit strewn toil
As children me my brother and several friends used to wade through waist-high water of a river that was better left to that of its own device. The smell coming off of this river was to say the least “rude and rank.” With sticks in hand we would round up as many helpless fish as we could and bash them into deadly submission until / as many were dead as was inhumanly possible. The mission was to kill as many as we could then to head home and try not to let our parents find out what we had been up to. Please keep in mind we were merely young, stupid children when we did these things, so please don’t get upset with such childlike behavior as I am now 45 and for sure understand the nature and depth of my childish mishap. The last two verses simply refer to the deception we kept and the potential repercussion of having been found out. My mother was a no nonsense lady when it came to doing right and wrong. Had I indeed been caught she’d have tanned my ass good, hence the last 8 lines tell of a right and justifiable ass whooping the likes of which would have caused me to have to stand for quite a while following it…. The lines “Lest mother all commandment, the commencement” refers to mom and how she not only laid down the letter of the law, but was in fact the letter of the law. “Turn Slaughter into Swine” obviously refers to how such reprimand turned our act of killing fish into tears upon having had my butt kicked by mom.

10 guidelines for developing life!
by adgrayRemember to breathe! Stop and look at the sky, stars, sunrise, sunset, the flowers and the trees and your children laughing!
Prompted by a spat of people I know having children and as I have 5 and am step mum/mom to 3 and adopted mother to everyones friends [Known as “Mumma Red” and “Mumma Rang” lol] they always ask me for help and advise so I wrote it down! I do have a bit of expertise to go with my experience / - 3 years education degree [admittedly still to be completed but passed not failed!], 20 years Scout Leadership, 2 years adult trainer, 4 years child care certified and mother for 25years. Ok it’s still a work in progress but it’s a beginning / anyone want to add to these I would most welcome helpful suggestions NB raising children can only be seen as the most valuable and important vocation in life for without the next generation what is all the rest for?

Bella
by Symmetry44Some said you were an angel born / Some they say you were the one / Will he take you home before your time / or just before reason’s rhyme
This song was written because of a documentary I saw on TV about a new born baby girl named Bella. / Bella was born with dysfunctional kidneys and was expected to die shortly after her birth. / Through much torment and hard fought decision her parents opted to try for a kidney transplant. / After numerous attempts to find a kidney that would take they finally found one and it was implanted into baby Bella, however the kidney did not take and Bella again was on the brink of death. Now her parents had another enormous decision to make; Do we try for another kidney and another operation for obvious and seemingly selfish reasons and put baby Bella through even more anguish or do we simply commend God to take her precious soul? / With much thought they opted yet again to try for a second operation knowing full well the taxing effects it would have on Bella’s fragile body and weakened immune system. / Long story short, baby Bella after several brushes with death finally got her kidney and today she is a healthy teenage girl. / I was brought to tears by this battle of resolve by baby Bella, her parents and the amazing doctors who performed the multiple surgeries on her, hence the inspiration for the song. / Incidentally I had the song sent to a recording studio and received a letter back telling me they loved the lyrics and henceforth wrote the music and recorded the song. / I hope you like…..
