I don’t know why I have winter on the mind, but it was enough that it made me want to make a winter picture. If anyone has any suggestions for a title, that would be great, because I’m having a blank. Stock Credits / Model- faestock on DA / Background & Textures are mine :)

Captured on an Indian Reservation in New Mexico, I have always loved 49-51 Ford Coupe’s…rare, they make one of the best Kustoms ever…and if I coulda found the owner and had a tow truck, I would have towed this all the way back home to Colorado with me! What a scene…...processed in HDR…thoughts welcomed!

I suppose you can say I have always been a sucker for old cars, especially Hotrods. There is something about the design and style of the years gone by, that todays designers in the automotive world have lost…the subtle curves of the body line, the way the trim fits along the body, and the overall composition and style….rolling sculpture. Elegance and style which is no longer created by the manufacturers but now recreated by those who spend many a late night out in the garage building a Kustom, wielding the torch, throwing the lead, and hammering the seams. Art it one of it’s most purest forms. Creativity personified. This is quite an older shot but remains one of my favorites, the color in this and the reflection caught my eye when I first captured it. I am not a huge fan of tri-year Chevy’s, but this ‘56 was just to good to pass up. Hope you all like it as much as I do / —-John / —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. I needed something to get the juices flowing, so I started working on a texture/creativity challenge hosted by A Photographer’s Craft. The challenge was to take the provided stock image and use it to make the texture on your own image. Since my camera has been nicely tucked away since the last challenge they hosted (nothing’s peaked my interest to photograph lately, I’m in a rut) I took one of my old junk photos that was filed away, pulled it out and started playing. This is one of two images I came up with. (Another group is hosting the same challenge, I’ll probably upload the other one later for that group.) This piece was featured in the Live, Love, Dream and A Photographer’s Craft groups. THANK YOU! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This piece can be found in my Flora Calendar.

A severe crop because of extenuating circumstances (I couldn’t move the bike and the front wheel was over a dark shutter!) but I feel it has some appeal. Given a poster treatment. Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

Well this sure caught me by surprise! I didn’t think original signs like this still existed, well, in Georgetown, Colorado they apparently still do! Needless to say, I had to get a few shots. Trying to get in the holiday spirit. Happy Holidays!

A female blue dasher standing on her head inspired this greeting card. Dragonflies do this to cool off their overheated bodies on steamy summer days.

Take one 1960 Hotrod Chevy Pickup at a car show in the rain, close focus and crop in camera, and then shove it thru custom settings in LucisArt and use the channel mixer for B&W, and you get something that looks like the textures will just eat you alive! I really like how this one came out…there is just so much to see in this….. / Thoughts welcomed! / —-John

I cropped this very tight because I loved the expression. the original was very pretty too though. This is a selective colored portrait of a natural and spontaneous capture of sisters giving a kiss on the cheek. Love selective colored photography too???? Como, Colorado is a place which stands in time….it is also a favorite place of mine to shoot at. It is a place where time stands still, where the buildings still echo 1865. Long forgotten it still has a few habitants. Founded in 1859, it is a town which came about during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush. There is quite an interesting site here which shows the town during it’s heyday. I really wanted an image that represented something between the meaning of the word “memory” yet also portrayed the word “Ghost Town” at the same time. This is the end result.
