  • Stuart Chapman

Another could pass for a lake shot Paul. (I can even see the trees on the jorizons this time!)

New cool blue Tuppers Tones make a welcome return as the perfect backdrop to this fella seemingly brave the elements. The title does indeed sum it up perfectly, you can almost feel how quiet it would be with the water just lapping away at the shores edge with rhytmical precision.

Thanks again Stuart… I know what you mean about it looking like a lake, what with those trees over on yonder distance… I guess Crescent Beach got its name for some reason! ;-)

The thing I love about a number of your photos is the sense of time stopping still. You hang this and any of a number of your others and just sit back and look. Get lost in the overall picture, the detail, the detail lost. It allows the evocation of memories, time to rest, solitude. Like a great piece of music allows you to mellow.. this is what your photos do for me. I don’t know how you do it, but you do it very well!

Thank you so much for your comment Mark… it makes me so happy that my pictures can evoke these kind of emotions and thoughts. I always strive for my work to be a little more than a picture and to tell a story where possible. Comments like this really make my day!
    Thanks again… :-)

The Grey Heron’s centre claw is serrated like a saw blade. This is because when it catches an eel its head feathers get covered in slime from the struggling eel, & so it then spends time digesting the eel & combing the slime from its feathers. The Nightjar has a similar claw to comb its whiskers. We did find a Heron’s foot so know that that is right.
