Yes I did use polarizing filter to slow down the water. Thanks

Thanks for the nice comment. Basically I just use small aperture with slow speed to capture the flowing water. If the speed if not slow enough to create the silky effect, then I will add polarizing filter to get the slower speed. That’s all. Quite simple. You can do it too.

G’day Steven,
I like the silky water effect that depicts the flow so well and the lighting/exposure/processing have rendered a very pleasing scene.
The very strong foreground element locks this all in place and the good focus and depth of field allow us the pleasure of viewing the detail right into the scene.
I do feel though that having the source of the water flow right in the centre of frame divides the image equally and suggest you crop down to about half of the greenery to offset the “water level” and give more prominence to the subject. (Just a thought).
Contrast is good and the colours are beautifully natural.
I like how the light play on the rocks is a almost a mirror of the lighter areas of water.
Nice work that man!

Dennis, thanks for adding this image into your fav’ list. You could be right, crop half of the greenery will give more attention to the water. I think at that time I forget the rule of third. LOL
