Watching by Isa Rodriguez
these kiddos were waiting for their turn to be with the artist who would paint their face :) that my grand baby, Thalia in the middle :) Sony DSC H 7 / 1/50s / f 8.0 / ISO 80 / Focal Length 24.7 This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears / All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres. / This is my Father’s world, the birds their carols raise, / The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker’s praise. / This is my Father’s world: I rest me in the thought / Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas; / His hand the wonders wrought. / This is my Father’s world. O let me ne’er forget / That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet. / This is my Father’s world: why should my heart be sad? / The Lord is King; let the heavens ring! / God reigns; let the earth be glad! / This is my Father’s world: He shines in all that’s fair; / In the rustling grass I hear Him pass; / He speaks to me everywhere. / In the rustling grass I hear Him pass; / He speaks to me everywhere. This is My Father’s World / words by Maltbie D. Babcock, 1901

Ice Breaker by Kevin Kroeker
The Icelandic Harvester. / / When I came across this old vessel moored to the pier my imagination started running wild with scenarios of what life aboard this wooden vessel would have been like. I could almost feel the sineous texture of the ropes as they hung there coated in the ice cold saltwater of the frigid North Atlantic Ocean. I could nearly hear the calls of the sailors as they shouted commands back and forth across her weather beaten decks as the waves crashed down upon her on any one of her numerous voyages. What sights must have been seen as sailors of old lined the rails to peer down at the mysteries of the sea. How many men were lost at sea and how many made it home with wild stories of his adventure aboard the Icelandic Harvester. / / Shot with a Canon 400D and processed in Lightroom 2. / / NautilusBlue / / nominated this image to be showcased in the group Pay It Forward and this is what she had to say… / / Ice Breaker / by Kevin Kroeker / I think it is an outstanding image with great composition ( great leading lines) with lots of drama and the colours are amazing . It shows us the harshness of the climate. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography /

The Icefields Parkway by Amanda White
Considered one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway offers an ever-changing view of waterfalls, emerald lakes, alpine meadows and snow-capped peaks. For two hundred and thirty kilometres, from Lake Louise to the Jasper townsite, the Parkway winds along the shoulder of the Great Divide and passes by the spectacular mountains of the Eastern Main Ranges of the Canadian Rockies. It follows the headwaters of three major rivers and crosses two major passes en route.

the front doors of Sacramento, CA restaurants (VIEW LARGE) by Lenny La Rue, IPA
In case it’s still to difficult to read the text of both required public postings, the best bits are copied verbatim here. ABOVE: / “WARNING! Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm may be present in foods and beverages sold or served here. California Health & Safety Code Section 25249.6” BELOW: / “This establishment was inspected by the Sacramento County Environmental Health Division in accordance with the California Health and Safety Code, and passed the inspection conducted on: 10.21.08…” I’m not sure there’s a need for further explanation as to why Sacramento, CA is such a fascinating place to live. Shot taken at P.F. Chang’s Bistro but the same notices are posted on all restaurants – or at least the ones that pass inspection. I’ve seen a couple “conditional pass” signs and one place was completely condemned, torn down and rebuilt. I knew the place was rather questionable before it got rebuilt but my fish and chips were always very good…

The Eternal Now by Sharon Anne Mau
The clouds appear to have written words in the sky!!! Sunset Interior Alaska / © 2008 Fine Art Photography by Sharon Anne Mau / Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi “The source of all has all. / Whatever flows from it must be there already in seed form. / And as a seed is the last of innumerable seeds, and contains the experience and the promise of numberless forests, / so does the Unknown contain all that was, or could have been and all that shall or would be. The entire field of becoming is open and accessible; past and future co-exist in the eternal now…. I find that somehow, by shifting the focus of attention, I become the very thing I look at, and experience the kind of consciousness it has; I become the inner witness of the thing. / I call this capacity of entering other focal points of consciousness, / love; you may give it any name you like. / Love says “I am everything”. / Wisdom says “I am nothing”. / Between the two, my life flows. Since at any point of time and space I can be both the subject and the object of experience, I express it by saying that I am both, and neither, and beyond both.” ~ the unparalleled words of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
