The Maze by Fremme
Here’s an old image taken during our last road trip to Moab last spring. We absolutely love this area and wish we could go more often but it’s a fair ways away therefore I keep these images as great memories. While in Arches National Park, you can hike out of this longer hike where you are in the desert and approach the rock formations via the backside and once you are in, it’s like a maze, you just got to make sure you follow the trail marker and don’t get lost or else you might spend a few hours backtracking which happened the first time out there. Thank you to our good old trail maps. Anyhow, here you go, here’s a taste of what’s to come once you are in there. / Cheers / Canon Xt, Sigma 17 to 35mm lens and better viewed full screen / Shot as is.

loch of the lowes by dinghysailor1
Loch of the Lowes lies in the beautiful scottish borders between Moffat and Selkirk. It flows into nearby St Mary’s loch (with its thriving sailing club) past old Tibbieshiels inn, hostelry and overnight stop for walkers on the southern upland way crossing Scotland. Overlooking the north end of the loch is a monument to James Hogg – the Scottish Poet known as the Ettrick Shepherd, friend and contemporary of Sir Walter Scott. Taken 4/3/08 (untouched) with a pocket fuji finepix A500 (there is a 2nd loch of the lowes further north in Perthshire, complete with osprey viewing centre – but you can see the wonderful fish eagle hunting here too if you are lucky!) Soundless Cave by Michael Walters
deep inside where you grow answers, there’s that question again / figure out why it brings damage, you’ve got too much to repair / theres a place your breath is drawn to, the air covers you so cold / your eyes they search no longer, they fill with forced concede oh this is just you hiding / you fill your heart with broken parts / oh no you’re not bleeding anymore / so rest inside your soundless cave here you stand and look for gaps of light, it’s hides inside you / i feel you whisper words that reassure, a gift of once before / on the outside you can’t repeat, what brought you to fall and hide / you feel the motion of constant fighting, your head and your heart your hands are cold / while you stay awake / that dream melts like you / moving right on through oh this is just you hiding / you fill your heart with broken parts / oh no you’re not bleeding anymore / so rest inside your soundless cave -me

Sunset at Garah by Michael Matthews
This is a “squashed up” version of the original 3 photo stitched panoramic view of this sunset. The original stitched image is further along in the gallery (currently page 3). / It doesn’t get the attention it deserves because the thumbnail doesn’t reveal how amazing it is. / Maybe this image will get more attention. Garah is in the north west of New South Wales close to the Queensland border (that’s Australia). / These photo/s were taken from my mum’s backyard .. May 9, 2008.

River Reflections - Murray River, Albury , NSW - The HDR Experience by Philip Johnson
MUCH BETTER VIEWED LARGER Welcome to my latest work , for those commenting and if i am lucky favouriting thank you for dropping in ! This shot was taken on my recent travels south , had a great time wandering around Albury on my way back from Victoria. At Albury Wodonga, the Hume Highway, Australia’s busiest national transport corridor, crosses the Murray. For many years, Albury Wodonga has been singled out by travellers to break their journey overland from Melbourne to Sydney. In fact, Hamilton Hume and William Hovell passed through the area in 1824 and the famous ‘Hovell Tree’, in which Hovell carved his initials, still stands on the banks of the Murray River at Albury. Albury is lucky to be located on the magnificent Murray River. AlburyCity has a series of parks along the River’s edge with picnic and barbecue facilities. A two metre wide shaded walking/cycling trail runs through the parks, and has links to other trail networks throughout Albury and into Wodonga. Why not take a break at the outdoor Riverdeck Café in Noreuil Park. There’s a children’s playground, and the Noreuil Park foreshore is a favourite swimming spot if the weather is right. This shot was taken with 5 bracketted images around sunset, the camera Nikon D300, using a Sigma 10-20mm lens. The image processed using Photomatix Pro with a tidy up with Capture NX. Nature's Abundant "Beauty" by TrEaSuReDiMaGeS
/ It’s neat how digital art work is created?….. Sometimes when I’m out taking photographs, I’ll see something like this barren pine tree and I have a vision of something I want to create with a previous photo I’d taken. That’s how this piece was inspired. The background is photo of that tree I shot last week. I cropped that photo then I took another photo that is in my portfolio titled “Deep In Thought” and used the lasso tool and then added that to the background photo. I did some erasing to clean up the image, dodge work, adjustments in contrast, color balance and exposure. I completed the work by adding a soft Orton Effect.
