  • Geneva Creek #4b by diabaig

Boulders and a fast moving stream in the mountains of Colorado. The original colored image forms part of my Geneva Creek portfolio. This is a black/white/green derivative that I rather liked.

  • September Rain by Adriana Glackin

Ok, I admit, I made it rain on the poor spider’s home. Not only did I chase it, but I flooded it’s home with water from spray bottle. I couldn’t wait for the real rain to fall, in case the spider’s web disappeared. All I’ve done to the image is brighten it up and place a slight little frame around bottom edge.

  • "Hands On" by Bradley Shawn Rabon

I was commissioned to take some photos of hands in a variety of situations and activities for an organisation call Scripture Union for their website. Part of that collection was this shot of my friend throwing a pot. i was captivated by the way her hands worked the wet clay, moulding and shaping with care and precision. The bible describes in Jeremiah 18 how a potter who creates the vessel can destroys it when it is corrupted and fashions a new one. We are in the creators hand ready to be moulded for his purposes. With strength and care, the hand holds the clay. • Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / • 28-300mm IS zoom lens / • f/2.8 / • 1/15 / • Exposure Bias -1.00 / • ISO 160

  • "Only Ghosts Remain" by Bradley Shawn Rabon

The gates are closed / Never to re-open / The crowds have gone / The locks are rusted If you listen in the silence / You can hear the wheels turn / The cries and laughter / The work that has ceased The protest are finished / The words have been said / Lives have now altered / But sadness remains A culture has been changed / Now only history remembers / The lives that were lost / Only ghosts now remain The closing down of the coal mines in England and especially here in Barnsley and all of South Yorkshire have left a scar on the culture, the land, industry, and on the lives of those who have been affected. Now all that remains of this historic industry are the skeletons of buildings dotted across the land. This is a photo of Barnsley main where much of my wife’s family had once been involved and worked. • Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / • 28-300mm IS zoom lens / HDR image created in Photomatix Pro / • f/5.0, f/5.6, f/8.0 / • 1/60, 1/80, 1/125 / • Exposure Bias between -1.00 and -1.67 / • ISO 100

  • Time by Ted Byrne

Recently in a Photograqher’s Craft Group forum there was a discussion concerning the way an image maker might portray the concept of time. It occurred to me that time is the only dimension which makes its mark upon all of the others and eventually erases them all. And it further came to me that we each carry about an hour glass whose sand we can check by peering into any mirror. So here’s my take on capturing time in an image. Incidentally, I’ve tried to post a link to that discussion in a following comment to my post.

  • "Staithes, North Yorkshire" by Bradley Shawn Rabon

The small fishing village of Staithes, along the north coast of England has a wonderful history and has been home to some famous names including that of one Captain James Cook. Visited by thousands each year, it brings to my mind the villages Jesus visited. I know they are a bit different, but the sea plays a wonderfully big part of the stories and illustrations he made part of his ministry. Perhaps that is why I am drawn to and love small fishing villages. • Fuji FinePix S5600 bridge camera / • f/5.6 / • 1/340 / • ISO 64

About This Group

This group provides a forum for advanced and master photographers to practice and perfect their craft, challenge themselves and others, learn and teach, promote their work to potential clients, improve business skills, and form a collective, supportive body of skilled artists. This group is for people who seriously plan to pursue photography as a career rather than as a hobby or part-time pasttime and feel their work is up to those standards now. We encourage an interactive atmosphere where members can not only share information but a piece of themselves. Creative inspirations, intelligent debate, a pedagogical approach and enjoying each other’s company will allow us to, most importantly, have fun along the way.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ART TO BE ACCEPTED INTO THE GROUP GALLERY AND/OR COMPETITIONS…....The only thing we ask from group members is to regularly participate in the group forums. This group will succeed and thrive on regular participation and interaction. Please add your artwork only AFTER you have started contributing to our forums, plans, ideas, or are working on a project for the group.
