Family....stuffed or not.... by Sheila Pasket
Kloe was playing around with Rhett with some of her stuffed toys and a few of Rhett’s. When I heard them in the living room, and had to check out what was going on. She was placing each animal, doll, etc around Rhett’s John Deere tractor, and told Rhett to sit on the hood, and he could hold his Curious George Monkey because they “WERE” going to take a family for her! It was so cute, because Rhett was doing just as she said to do…first time for everything. LOL And he was even saying “Cheeeseee”. It was so cute! When she saw me, she said, “Mom….can you please take our family picture for us? You’ll need my camera. Oh…can you just use yours?” It was TOO FUNNY!!!! However, Rhett decided at the last minute that he didn’t have “time” to take her family picture, and began to get off the tractor as the picture was taken….I cropped him out as well because he was just in his diaper…...LOL. :o) OH and yes….she dressed herself this afternoon!! / taken 1-4-09

Buttons- The Puppy with a Brain by Barbara Morrison
Buttons was my all time favorite Christmas gift. When you pushed the buttons he would move his eyes, bark, wag his tail. give you his paw, or raise both ears. I really loved that toy. Well, years later, when my mother was in a cleaning frenzy, she threw him out with some other stuffed animals while I was at school. The loss of Buttons left a void in my heart. / Many years later, when I was married and in my twenties I went to an antique show at the mall and there was Buttons sitting amidst the treasures. Of course I bought him and took him home. But the really amazing thing is that the door to the battery compartment was bent in exactly the same way as mine had been! After all these years I was finally re-united with my own Buttons.

Artist: Leah Highland / Author: Kira Schenk (my daughter, age 15) Please enjoy this collaboration. We have worked hard putting our minds together on this one. Kira is a kind soul with a very big heart and a great imagination. It has been a pleasure to work with her on this project. / “Hope” / In a world so dark and gloomy, / No sign of ending, no glimpse of freedom, / Never ending agony, a place full of misery, / There is hope! / Let me tell you my friend, / There is a light! / But you must trust me down this secret and desolate path, / To the portal that leads to a divine dwelling. / A place of abundant bliss and endless joy! / Come with me and I will help you in your time of need. / I will escort you to the spot where not many have gone. / It takes courage to travel down this path, / Once looking back, / You will be pleased that you have taken that first step, / That first step to personal growth! / With everything you have endured, / You deserve a superior future, a better way of life! / Welcome! / There is hope! / Written By: Kira Schenk / 1/7/09 / Copyright Notice: / All images are the property of ©Leah Highland and may not be used wholly or in part without the prior written permission by email, including copying, duplicating, manipulating, printing, / publishing (even on a web site), reproducing, storing, or transmitting by any means. /
