Awaiting congregation by igotmeacanon
Salisbury is unique amongst medieval English cathedrals, built within one century with no substantial later additions. The building itself is remarkable, a testimony to the faith and practical skills of those who erected it.

Once Upon a Time by Karri Klawiter
Another shot in this lovely abandoned house. I’m slowing getting them posted. Eventually I’ll get the image of the outside of it up…maybe :) I have a few, just have to finish editing and decide what ones make the cut, or at least get to test the waters. I was having trouble naming this one. As I was staring at the drywall patchwork that was started, I was thinking about how once upon a time someone started renovating the house, but didn’t finish. Makes me wonder why? So…even though there was no storybook ending to this house (at least not yet) I’m imagine it had a storybook beginning. HDR imaging House is located in Allegan Coutny, Mi “

Carriden Old Church III by tomg
The ruin of Carriden Old Church at Carriden, Bon’ess, Falkirk District, Scotland. Carriden Old Church was built in 1766 to replace the medieval church adjacent to Carriden House. It is T-shaped in plan and finished in simple Georgian style. An aedicule was attached to the north side of the building in 1771 to protect the monument to Sir William Maxwell of Carriden. A tower with a spire and a session house were added around 1840. When the new church was opened in 1909 the roof was taken off the old one and it is now a picturesque ruin. Three bracketed JPGs converted to HDR in Photomatix. BEST VIEWED LARGER Related shots can be found at: Lowland Scotland or you can look at all my HDR shots.

Old Sheldon Church by Mary Campbell
Old Sheldon Church, is a historic ruin located in Garden Corner, SC The majestic outline of the old Sheldon Church stands deep in the forest and has lain in ruin for more than 120 years. Its One of the first Greek-Revival structures built in the United States, Prince William’s Parish Church, erected 1745-55, was once one of the most impressive churches in the Province. During the Revolution, the Patriots are believed to have stored gun powder in it. In 1779, when the British General Augustine Prevost invaded the Lowcountry, the church was burned by a detachment which according to tradition, was commanded by the flamboyant local Tory, Andrew Deveaux. Rebuilt in 1826, the church was again burned by Sherman’s men in 1865. The ruins are nevertheless a picturesque site from which the visitor can visualize the grandeur of the pre-Revolutionary church.
