Recent Work

  • 'Goulburn Twilight' by Lynda Robinson

Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper (Burgundy) – 70cm x 50cm At this time of day colours seem to be really brilliant and rich. The sun has just about disappeared but there is still enough light to bathe the scene in a golden glow. I really wanted to capture ‘twilight’.

  • 'Wozza' by Lynda Robinson

Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper (Terracotta). 45cm x 25cm (approx) This was a commissioned work. I was approached by ‘Wozza’ through a friend of his (after he’d seen some of my work in an exhibition). I was invited to attend an ‘afternoon tea’ at the friend’s house. ‘Wozza’ arrived in a suit and tie that were way too small for him, and gave me the impression that they hadn’t seen daylight for several years. He appeared very nervous! We started chatting, and got along really well. In the end I asked him if he was going out somewhere special, and he said “No, I only came to meet you, and I wore this because I thought you would be some hoity-toity arty type. If I’d have known you were going to be a normal Sheila I would have bought a few beers and we needn’t be sipping this bloody tea”! ‘Wozza’ (Warren is his real name) insisted on posing in a ‘bluey’ singlet (much loved apparel for shearers in Australia) and I am pleased to report that he was happy with the result. In fact he commissioned another painting, (which I might put up at some later date).
